Since the wind is sideoffshore most of the time, you have small waves with chop close to the beach, beach break. The further you get out the bigger the waves. The ocean is deep immediately. At high tide there can be a big shallow area in the lagoon, only at very high waters.
The sandy beach is very wide and long. Soft close to the water, hard behind it. Can be good for land kiting. Lots of space to safely launch and land the kites.
Usually very gusty and sideoffshore almost every day from spring to fall. Winds can be gusting anything between 3-8 Bft. Sometimes stronger. Winter can have South or East winds, more constant, but less strong and not that often.
Fly into Puerto del Rosario, Fuerteventura. Then by car or bus to the South on the highway. Turn left when you see the sign to `Sol Gorriones`. Pass the hotel to the left and drive down to the beach. You can park directly at the beach.
05-03-27 tess: When you are a beginner you can only kite in the lagoon, there fore you have to know the tide at that period. Otherwise you will end up witghout water in the lagoon.

07-08-01 20:20 Toby: Today and yesterday good winds, up to mid 30's knots wind. People where on 7-10 sqm kites. Sunny all day, not too hot. Some days ago it was very hot and no wind! Shorts are ok, but it is nicer with a lycra or thin shorty.
