The water is at least 20ºC most of the year in Lacém and a bit colder on the island, because it's the Atlantic Ocean. Nice weather almost all year around. You can ride any time of the year.
SW: mainly from March till October with 12-16 knots. E or SE: the rest of the year with 10-14 knots. From March until October we have the SW wind that is great because it's very reliable (usually from 12-16 knots). The rest of the year we can also get E or SE wind.
You can get to Faro Airport in the Algarve and then come in the Direction of Vila Real de Santo António, it's a small road to the right before getting to Cacela (where the golf is). From Cabanas de Tavira walk on low tide across the channel, ride, swim or get there by boat.
