Sandy beach. When tide is out there are acres and acres of sandy flats to practice kite flying, then it is a long walk to the water line. This is an excellent beginner spot. At high tide there is still lots of room to rig and launch. A very popular kiting spot if the wind is right.

Best wind: Southeast or South. Winds tend to be light during summer. Winds are typically light and rarely get above 15mph (during summer) from the Southeast (45° onshore). Good winter riding spot as winds tend to be stronger than summer.
Take highway 99 south from the airport and change direction to the ferry terminal just after exiting the George Massey Tunnel (keep right). You will turn left once you reach Tsawwassen (you will be heading South). Turn left again on 3rd (Chevron gas station). Continue East past the golf course and a few winding turns in the road until the road ends its easterly direction (your there).
During the summer months at Boundary Bay, BC there is food at the GVRD Beach, 2 min walk north along the beach - all year round there are toilets and heated showers at the same location - however no kiting or windsurfing is allowed at that beach at this time.
