Best in SW and W. Other directions are gusty. At the Bodensee suddenly storms can hit. Therefore a storm warning system has been created, using orange flashing lights, and ships put up a balloon on the mast. Look out for these signals to avoid getting into problems.

Get to Ludwigshafen, in the north of the lake. Here get to `Strandbad Ludwigshafen`. To the east you will find the surf and kite beach.

You need a special license to kite here. 25m is the maximum line length allowed. For experienced riders only. Watch the boat traffic. Kitesurfer have to launch and ride away from the surf area.
