Best Tide:
- Tide Independent

Huge lagoon on the northern tip of the island with almost two kilometers of “one way riding. Tide does not play a big role for this spot unless you go for the rocky areas which are well visible because of the clear water. Some waves are to be had on the reef, but these are best discovered by the more experienced as they are very shallow waves breaking on nasty coral. On the reef enclosing this bay are two wave spots that are regularly ridden by the locals, “Yachya” and “Panic”. When you enter the water at the main surf beach, there is a very narrow channel of sand, which has been created by the locals to access the water without stepping on stones.

Nice fairly safe beach (fine sand) is situated right next to the public beach in front of the sports and youth center with sideshore wind conditions. Small sandy beach, but bigger grassy area next to it. A bit of care must be taken when coming in for the big casuarina trees which like to chew up a bit of kite now and then.

 How to get there
Transport:
- Car
Access:
- No Walk

Best is to hire a car on the island if you want to be mobile, as public transport is fairly tedious and slow. Otherwise taxis usually do the transfers from and to the airport. You can park directly at the beach.

 Rules, Restrictions and Extra Info

Always be extra careful in lagoons when approaching channels and passes, the current will surprise you very often and you will get sucked out to sea before you know it. Usually sharks also like to hang around there, as they can just sit and gobble up the morsels that come ripping past. Around the island there are a lot of fish, so every boat has its rod or hand line for fishing which is constantly in use, so do not pass to near boats as you might get caught up like a fish. Behind moving boats there are often trawling lines, these are a great trap.
